Insect bites & stings can be very paiful and cause itching and irritation.
Bites and stings that result in severe rash - especially a circular red rash - or a fever should be examined by a health care professional. Also, watch for signs of allergic reactions such as breathing difficulties or severe swelling.
Natural remedies can relieve the pain and the swelling in the inflamed skin after a sting from a bee or similar insect.

Homeopathy
Apis is indicated after bites or stings which lead to reddened skin and inflamed swollen tissues in the skin. This remedy is particularly effective for symptoms of bites or stings of any insect where the sensation resembles the sting or burning feeling induced by a bee sting. This is the remedy to use when swelling is present.
Arnica is indicated in the treatment of insect bites and stings in which the symptoms may include intense bruising and soreness in the affected region of the skin.
Cantharis is indicated for those stung or bitten by insects where the the dominant sensation is i burning pain.
Herbs & Supplements
Calendula cream can be rubbed into skin several times daily.
Lavender Oil apply a few drops to the skin several times daily or as needed.
Tea Tree Oil can be applied to the affected area one drop at a time several times daily. If skin irritation develops, discontinue use.
Vitamin C 1,000 mg three times daily to assist immune response.
Quercetin 500 mg three times daily twenty minutes before meals to reduce tissue inflammation.
What Else You Can Do
Toxins from bites and stings can be drawn out through the use of plantain or comfrey leaves made into an external poultice. If you get bitten or stung while hiking look for yellow dock leaves. Mash the leaves up and apply directly to the skin.
